Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, flex hours based on the needs of our program.General Purpose of the Job Assist Program Supervisor in the coordination and delivery of services needed to insure health and well being of program participants. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Supervise Midlevels and Direct Care Staff.
  • Conduct staff meetings with DSP's and Midlevel supervisors on a regular basis.
  • Work with Program Maintenance Supervisor to insure an attractive and safe environment which would include regular inspection of all building, bedrooms, windows, doors, blinds, painting, electrical deficiencies, etc. Maintain ongoing checklist/tracking form to monitor deficiencies and submit form to Program Supervisor regularly.
  • Cover open shifts in the absence of Midlevel Supervisor.
  • Attend Residential and Day Treatment case conferences if needed and requested by the Program Supervisor.
  • Maintain daily records insuring follow through of daily/weekly shift vacancies logs and send notifications to the Human Resources Dept. to contact Temp agencies of vacancies.
  • Complete payroll for Midlevels and Direct Support Professionals.
  • Unload truck deliveries in the appropriate designated garage and storerooms. Maintain and rotate supplies to meet safety and health standards.
  • Track all training i.e. (AMAP, SCIP, CPR, fire drills etc.), as well as, certifications and licenses.
  • Interview, assign and train all new staff which would include attending all job fairs requiring recruitment.
  • Order supplies and interact with vendors.
  • Check all bedrooms/bedrails for compliance with regulations on a weekly basis. Ensuring all staff, i.e.; cleaning and maintenance staff performs daily/weekly disinfecting duties and report any violations to the Program Supervisor.
  • Insure the operation/inspection/general maintenance and of all adaptive equipment, i.e.; Hoyer lifts, recliners, shower chairs, etc. including laundry, and kitchen equipment.
  • Order supplies i.e. (Diapers, chucks, bibs, cleaning agents, laundry detergent, and first aid supplies). Check inventory regularly in all departments.
  • Conduct in-services for Midlevels and Direct Support Professionals as needed.
  • Coordinate the food service component/ quality control/ provide supervision of food service personnel.
  • Insure data collection and timely completion of paperwork.
  • Supervise facility cleaning staff and/or contractor.
  • Insure vans receive scheduled maintenance and repairs with vendors including inspection and cleaning. Provide ongoing in-service training with all staff of van seat belts and tie down of safety straps.
  • Work flexible schedule which includes one weekend day, evening, early mornings, and parts of the overnight shifts.
  • Complete annual Midlevel/DSP's evaluations.
  • Complete annual disaster preparedness in-service training and coordinating full evacuation drill.
  • Plan/coordinate and attend special in-house and community events such as diversity awareness week, barbecue, and holiday parties.
  • Be available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Any other duties as delegated by the Program Supervisor.
  • QualificationsEducation and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or comparable hands-on experience with physically challenged or developmentally disabled. Supervisory experience in the field of developmental disabilities is required.
