Hourly Front Desk Representative - Global Education Office
The Global Education Office (GEO) is seeking a highly organized and service-oriented Hourly Front Desk Representative to serve as the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors. This role is essential to maintaining a welcoming and efficient office environment and plays a key part in supporting GEO's daily operations and strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Greet and assist walk-in visitors and manage the department's main phone line
- Monitor and respond to inquiries via the primary departmental email account
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director of Operations & Communications and the Communications Manager
- Coordinate conference room scheduling and maintain office supply inventory across GEO departments
- Assist in organizing meetings and communications for the Vice Provost for Global Initiatives
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials as needed
- Other duties and tasks as assigned
Required qualifications include:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years of experience in customer service and office administration
- Strong written communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in and to foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences and a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Preferred qualifications include:
- Education: Bachelor's degree
