Position Summary

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading Shoppa's procurement strategy and ensuring goods and services are acquired at the best possible cost, quality, and terms. This role will oversee supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and partner with internal teams to optimize supply chain efficiency. The ideal candidate is a strong negotiator, data-driven decision-maker, and leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals
  • Manage vendor selection, authorization, and performance
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to drive cost savings
  • Monitor supplier quality, delivery, and compliance
  • Partner with inventory teams to balance stock levels and minimize risk
  • Oversee purchasing budgets and prepare cost analyses
  • Lead and mentor a team of purchasing professionals, fostering continuous improvement
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align procurement with operational needs
  • Conduct market research to anticipate trends and supply chain risks
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal, regulatory, and internal standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5–7 years of purchasing or supply chain experience (managerial experience a plus)
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain supplier relationships
  • Experience with budget management and process improvement initiatives
