Position Type: Permanent Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

Salary: $24.18 to $26.60 hourly. Employees assigned to work at the detention center/jail shall be compensated $1.00/hour above their normal rate of pay for any time spent working at the detention center/jail. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Location: Central Area/Cocoa/Brevard County Detention Center/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Job Description: Performs skilled crafts and trades work in the repair and maintenance of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

Three (3) years of experience as an air conditioning mechanic. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must be able to successfully pass a Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background check administered by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
