Job Opportunity: Night Shift Nurse - Mixed Acuity Unit (PCU, MS Tele)Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced nurse to join our Mixed Acuity Unit on a Night Shift (4x12-Hour). The ideal candidate will have recent experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Intermediate Care (IMC) within the last three years.

Shift Details

• Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)
• Ratios: 1:3-5 for days and weekends; 1:3-6 for nights
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: May float to sister units (West 2, West 3, and Observation Unit)

Patient Population

This unit caters to a diverse patient demographic, including:

• PCU and MS Tele patients
• Surgical pre and post-operative patients (ENT, General Surgery, Trauma Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery)
• Rare pediatric patients (Travelers will not be assigned unless experienced)

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Skills:
  • Telemetry monitoring
  • Management of dysrhythmias
  • IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
  • Feeding tube care and management
  • Central line care and maintenance
  • Blood product administration
  • Wound care, including Vacuum-Assisted Closure (VAC)
  • Tracheostomy management

Preferred Qualifications

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• TransCarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR) experience

Unit Details

The Mixed Acuity Unit features a blend of patient care responsibilities across different acuities, with a focus on collaboration and interdisciplinary support. We utilize EPIC for documentation, Pyxis for medication management, and adhere to SBAR communication protocols.
