Head of Program Management

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to head our Program Management function. This role will be pivotal in driving the success of our global portfolio by ensuring seamless execution of complex programs across research, development, and operational initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams, managing large-scale budgets, and delivering results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Strategic Programs: Oversee multiple high-impact programs from early development through commercialization, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and timelines.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with senior leadership and functional heads to foster accountability, resolve challenges, and maintain clear communication across all stakeholders.
  • Financial Stewardship: Provide oversight of program budgets, resource allocation, and financial forecasting to optimize portfolio value.
  • Governance & Reporting: Establish and maintain governance frameworks, ensuring timely decision-making, risk mitigation, and transparent reporting to executive leadership.
  • Operational Excellence: Implement best practices in program management, including integrated planning, milestone tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Build and develop a high-performing program management team, promoting a culture of agility, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, business, or related field strongly preferred; PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in program or project management within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Deep understanding of drug development processes, regulatory pathways, and lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience supporting regulatory submissions, including INDs, NDAs, and/or BLAs.
  • Broad exposure to multiple therapeutic areas; strong preference for candidates with experience in oncology, rare diseases, neurology, and immunology.
  • Demonstrated success in leading global, cross-functional teams and managing complex portfolios.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget planning and resource management.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
