Compensation: $70k - $80k/year DoE

Job Description

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator is responsible for supporting and enhancing workplace safety and environmental compliance at a manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Senior Corporate Safety and Health Manager, this role assists in the identification, evaluation, and control of EHS risks, and contributes to skills-building and training for both leadership and production staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, and GMP regulations and internal policies.
  • Support and help implement employee training and skills development programs.
  • Interpret and apply relevant local, state, and federal regulations to ensure facility compliance.
  • Assist with industrial hygiene monitoring and related assessments.
  • Conduct internal audits, inspections, and assessments; support development of corrective action plans.
  • Participate in and promote safety initiatives, including Safety Committee involvement.
  • Review new or modified equipment/processes for health and safety implications.
  • Attend and contribute to daily production and quality meetings.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain plant-level safety and environmental policies.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and safety training.
  • Investigate incidents and support root cause analysis.
  • Lead toolbox talks and contractor safety trainings.
  • Organize and conduct monthly safety training sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date reports and documentation.
  • Act as a backup for the Packaging Superintendent when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory bodies and resources.
