Credit Management Associate III
The Credit Management Associate III provides ongoing support to an assigned commercial customer account portfolio within Credit Management. The Associate will be involved in origination requests and ongoing portfolio administration throughout the lifecycle of each account. The Associate will ensure that all required processes are completed in accordance with Bank standards and procedures while driving data accuracy and quality control to avoid losses and reduce undue risk. The Associate works with lending and credit management personnel on customer requests to determine and collect critical information from a variety of sources, third parties, and internal partners for utilization in key tasks within the loan origination and portfolio management systems. During each phase of an account's lifecycle, the Credit Management Associate III will ensure customer, facility, and regulatory documentation align accurately within internal systems within Credit Management. The Credit Management Associate III will serve as an expert in commercial lending process and be a resource for others.
Depth and Scope:
- Manages an assigned account portfolio for new and existing commercial customers to provide consistent professional service and support throughout the total lifecycle of each account.
- Assists with the uploading of due diligence received during underwriting, to the image repository system, in preparation of Loan Specialist assignment.
- May assist in preparing the most basic financial analysis of less complex loans/industries/Customers, maintaining credit file, financial statement and assist with analysis memos.
- Input necessary information into loan origination system to generate loan documents; Assists with closing of new loan accounts and submits information for boarding; assists loan team in preparing a complete approval package in preparation for closing.
- Works closely with Credit Management team in supporting basic underwriting functions including spreading of financial statements.
- May assist in research of industry specific information from outside sources, industry publications, area libraries, references from other banks, credit agencies, as well as accessing information through the Internet.
- Assist Credit Management with clearing and management of exceptions.
- Supports and assists Credit Management CCM team with reporting, loan activities, delinquencies and tracking in loan information.
- May generate and distribute reports to the Credit Management team, as needed.
- Manages a loan pipeline from origination through booking in accordance with Bank policies and procedures.
- Works independently in resolving more complex issues relating to origination process through booking.
- Follows quality control procedures to verify records contain proper content using checklist and other tools.
- May create/manage/confirm TD document changes and inputs are consistent with system requirements.
- Evaluates best course of action taking into account bank policy, regulatory requirements, impact to the customer, and impact to the bank as well as cost factors.
- Establishes strong working relationships with commercial stakeholders, credit risk and other internal areas involved in underwriting, approval and closing loans.
- Performs lockdown control / QC Function post-approval of a customer request to verify approved terms by Credit Management and Credit Risk align to the loan origination system data.
- May provide support with onboarding activities.
Education & Experience:
- 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of related experience.
- Accounting knowledge, including FASB and GAAP regulations, particularly in assigned line(s) of business.
- Curious and observant with willingness to investigate to understand details of assigned business lines/accounts.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proactive, with ability to obtain necessary information and influence others in a tactful way without direct authority.
- Relationship management skills, with ability to develop good client working relationships.
- Communication skills, with ability to clearly display and explain numerical information and articulate required accounting treatment PC skills, including understanding of accounting software applications.
- Ability to analyze non-routine transactions and those requiring judgment.
