Job Title: Logistics Supervisor
Job Description
The Logistics Supervisor will oversee plant logistics operations at a manufacturing facility, ensuring the precise and efficient movement of materials, components, and finished goods to support aerospace manufacturing. This role involves hands-on leadership, real-time inventory management using SAP, and the ability to solve complex logistical challenges in a dynamic startup environment.
Responsibilities
Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including receiving, warehousing, kitting, and shipping.
Manage daily work assignments and schedules of logistics personnel to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
Address interpersonal issues within the logistics team and between logistics and other departments.
Supervise material flow to ensure materials are delivered to the production line with 100% accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain accurate inventory records using SAP, including goods receipts, stock transfers, cycle counts, and reconciliation.
Monitor material flow to prevent shortages or delays and serve as a point of escalation for logistics-related issues.
Manage the health and safety of all assigned personnel, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Contribute to the development of logistics processes and procedures.
Address issues with logistics personnel and administer discipline as required.
Ensure work instructions are followed and updated as needed.
Monitor, develop, and report on logistics key performance indicators (KPIs).
Provide root cause analysis and solutions for KPIs that are below target.
Work closely with internal and external customers to ensure proper shipments.
Embrace change, adjusting plans and resources to meet evolving production and business needs.
Champion flexibility and resilience within the logistics team.
Collaborate effectively with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics.
Ability to adapt to a continuously changing environment with varying objectives.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize data with attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal direction.
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office/G-Suite, including query techniques, Pivot tables, and VLOOKUP.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Office, and SAP.
Strong verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to travel as required.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Meet physical requirements such as lifting up to 40 pounds and working in hot/cold environments.
3+ years of experience in Supply Chain or Logistics in an industrial environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to work in a team environment.
Experience with Power BI and material procurement.
Work Environment
This position is based on-site at a manufacturing facility in Covington, GA. The role involves hands-on supervision of plant logistics operations on an assigned shift, overseeing inbound and outbound logistics, managing personnel, maintaining inventory via SAP, and ensuring safety. The work environment is fast-paced and continuously changing, typical of a startup. The role may involve different shifts, weekends, overtime, and exposure to hot/cold environments and heavy equipment. Physical demands include standing and lifting.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
