Works as a member of the Catalog Management Unit in the Resource Acquisitions and Discovery (RAD) department. Performs an integrated set of tasks to order, receive, and catalog materials from vendors, including but not limited to monographic materials in all formats and print serials, primarily in Spanish and Portuguese languages. Prepares shipments of materials sent off-site to a vendor for outsourced cataloging and readies items for processing upon their return. Catalogs materials in English or other languages besides Spanish and Portuguese as needed. Participates in special cataloging projects. Coordinates workflows and projects with other unit members, other RAD units, and area studies and liaison librarians, and provides status updates or troubleshooting assistance to public and access services personnel as needed. Although the Receipt and Copy Cataloging Specialist position might be eligible for a Flexible Work Arrangement, there are tasks and responsibilities that must be performed on-site and in person. Therefore, this position is not eligible for fully remote work. Incumbent is expected to recognize, respect, and work effectively with individuals and groups with different perspectives and from varied backgrounds in all aspects of their work.
