Edge Computing Specialist

The Edge Computing Specialist is responsible for managing and executing the full lifecycle of all edge computing devices (e.g., desktops, laptops, tablets, handheld devices, and printers). This role involves collaborating with IT teams, hardware/software partners, and end users to ensure devices meet company technical and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Device Configuration & Lifecycle Management

  • Works with IT team members and partners to define image configurations for edge devices.
  • Manages overall lifecycles for in-scope devices, from deployment to decommission.
  • Ensures compliance with company technical and quality standards/procedures.

Partner & Vendor Relations

  • Manages working relationships with edge computing hardware and software partners.

Documentation & Record-Keeping

  • Keeps accurate records and documentation for all edge computing devices.

Troubleshooting & Technical Support

  • Performs troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common computer software and hardware problems.
  • Resolves technical problems on new and existing systems, including installations and upgrades.
  • Escalates problems and/or issues as appropriate.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other responsibilities as needed to meet evolving business needs

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate's degree in computer or engineering-related studies.

Experience:

  • Strong technical background in managing and supporting edge computing devices.
  • Hands-on experience working with PCs, printers, and tablets.

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of best practices in managing, controlling, and monitoring computer equipment.
  • Ability to set up and configure PCs and related hardware.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting methods for both hardware and software issues.

Competencies:

  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with end users.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license, with the ability to travel as needed.

Working Conditions (Physical demands):

  • Availability for on-call support 24/7, including weekends.
  • Ability to lift and install electronic equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to work in manufacturing plant conditions.

$22.00-$28.00
