Specialty Contractors include HVAC, Fire Suppression, Pest Control, Landscapers, Siders, Roofers, Plumbers, Fence Installers, etc. Coverage includes: General Liability GL, Professional Liability PL, Excess Liability, Commercial Auto, Workers' Compensation WC, Property Damage, Pollution, etc. Activities: Manage, train, and groom a team of staff underwriters for continuous growth. Select or deny new and renewal business for coverages. Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations. Utilize the established underwriting framework to underwrite the most complex and largest risks within given authority. Review book of business as well as profit and growth results and trends to recommend and implement action plans. Act as a key point of contact for brokers and customers to support the company sales culture. Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures and standards to produce profitable underwriting results. Requirements: 10 years Excess & Surplus underwriting experience. Leadership ability and willingness to 'get in the trenches' with your team on complex projects. High visibility position within a leading company and compensation package to match.
