Gentiva Hospice is expanding into Ingham County and I will have some volunteer opportunities to visits seniors on Hospice care. Some patients will be in their own home and others are in a facility. Volunteers are able to connect with Seniors by making friendly visits. People love company. Activities may include conversation, watching TV, reading, listening to music, crafts, card games and puzzles. Sometimes just being present is all that is needed. This is a time where volunteers are able to devote time to them that is strictly devoted to what they would like to do.
once the requirements are met the volunteers schedule is 100% flexible to the time they have available.
Requirements include the following and are all paid for by Gentiva Hospice.
1. Background Check
2. Finger Printing
3. 2 step TB test
4. Drug test (minus marijuana)
5. Paperwork and training
I will meet with the Volunteer and help with all of the above to make sure they feel comfortable and prepared for this new adventure.
