Job Summary: Leads prenatal and postnatal patient education classes, including but not limited to, childbirth preparation, baby care, breastfeeding and maternity tours in a variety of Hartford Hospital educational settings. Job Responsibilities: · Provides educational support to parents and families attending prenatal and postnatal classes according to developed curricula and guidelines. · Offers feedback to the program coordinator regarding programs, supplies and individual patient needs. This is a per diem position working week-day evenings and Saturdays and travelling to teach outside the hospital within the community (teaching in areas such as West Hartford, Glastonbury, Wethersfield, Enfield and Avon).** Work whereevery momentmatters. This is a per diem position working week-day evenings and Saturdays and travelling to teach outside the hospital within the community (teaching in areas such as West Hartford, Glastonbury, Wethersfield, Enfield and Avon).** · RN CT License. · RN Diploma, BS in Nursing or BS, BA non-nursing · Minimum two years of previous Registered Nurse experience within Women's Health and working with expectant and new families. · Patient teaching experience preferred. · Certification in area of specialty (IBCLC, Certified Lactation Counselor, Prepared Childbirth Education-PCE) is preferred.
