Description Café attendants will ensure that guests have all items needed to enjoy their meal and facilitate an efficient dining experience. The main tasks are taking and fulfilling food and drink orders, light food prep, cleaning the dining area, and restocking product. A friendly attitude and excellent communication skills are required for this position's success, all while adhering to the pressures of maintaining a well-stocked and clean dining space. - Greet guests pleasantly and with courtesy and provide with simple direction
- Develop a working knowledge of food and beverage operations
- Awareness of safety and security policies and procedures as they relate to self, guests, co-workers, and property. We provide training and guidelines to adhere to these practices that can keep you healthy and safe, including our coworkers and guests.
- Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays.
- Perform additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the FOH F&B Managers/Supervisors at any time.
- Bus tables, vacuum, sweep, and mop floors as necessary
- Help to unload supplies, shovel snow, clean windows and water fountains, empty trash cans, restock food and beverages
- Maintain a clean and neat workspace, guest space, and help ensure that the operation runs in a smooth and orderly fashion.
- Wipe down surfaces such as food counters, shelves, walls, doors, tables, and chair-backs. Removes dirty dishes by stacking them and returning them to the dish-pit in an organized method. Also responsible for cleaning up any spilled food or drink.
- Maintain order in the food service area by arranging tables and chairs in a way that allows for easy movement within the establishment.

Qualifications & Knowledge
- Must already have or be willing to complete the New Mexico Food Handlers Certification upon hire.
- Must already have or be willing to complete the New Mexico Alcohol Server Certification upon hire.
- Must be able to ski or snowboard at a level to safely get to and from The Whistlestop. This is an on-mountain Food & Beverage operation.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Work Environment: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position will require travel on uneven, snow packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold and/or humid conditions. May require working alone or with others depending on day's business. Physical Demands of Position Include: Will often lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally team lift up to 50 pounds. 80-100% of the time will be spent standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling. 25-50% of the time may be spent climbing/balancing and being exposed to the outdoors including winter weather conditions. Occasionally sitting - less than 15% of the time. Background Check Positions dealing with children, of safety sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check and MVR check.
