REPORTS TO: School Food Service ManagerQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent, preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, instructions, procedures, and menus.
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics.
  • Ability to complete daily production records and routine reports.
  • Must successfully pass the required health examination.
  • Ability to relate well to students, staff members, and co-workers.
  • Physical demands - must be able to stand and walk the majority of the day; must be able to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • JOB DUTIES:
  • Is present at work everyday and arrives at the assigned time.
  • Demonstrates an attitude and demeanor that contributes to an atmosphere of harmony and goodwill in the work place.
  • Works harmoniously with supervisors, school staff, district staff and parents.
  • Assists in the preparation and serving of food, to include the operation of all kitchen equipment.
  • Assists with the setup of cafeteria and serving lines.
  • Assists in clean up of utensils, equipment, and kitchen area.
  • Assists with restocking and inventory of food supplies.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with defined safety and sanitation standards.
  • Follows approved procedure for collecting meal payments and recording meals by category.
  • Attends approved training sessions, staff development activities, and meetings as required.
  • Complies with all requirements for mandatory reporting of child abuse, illegal harassment, or any criminal activity for which the employee becomes aware.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • EVALUATION: Performance in this position is evaluated in accordance with the personnel on classified evaluations.
