Job Summary The Reading Remediation Coordinator will coordinate and deliver targeted reading interventions for middle school students who are reading below grade level. The coordinator works closely with teachers, specialists, and administrators to identify student needs, provide evidence-based support, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with state standards and school literacy goals. Part Time, Flexible Hours during the 25-26 school year. Essential Duties

  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery of reading intervention programs and remedial support for struggling readers in grades 6-8.
  • Assess student reading levels using diagnostic tools and collaborate with teachers to identify students in need of remediation.
  • Develop and implement individualized and small-group intervention plans using research-based instructional strategies.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, reading specialists, and special education staff to align interventions with core content.
  • Track and analyze student progress, adjusting intervention strategies as needed, and maintain clear records of interventions and outcomes.
  • Provide coaching, resources, and training to teachers and instructional aides in best practices for supporting struggling readers.
  • Communicate regularly with administrators and families regarding student progress and literacy goals.
  • Support school-wide literacy initiatives and contribute to a culture of reading growth throughout the school.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Reading, Literacy, or related field.
  • Valid teaching license with a reading or literacy endorsement preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with middle school students in reading intervention settings.
  • Strong knowledge of literacy development, reading assessments, and evidence-based intervention practices.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work closely with teachers, families, and support staff to improve student outcomes.
