Salary: $11.00 to $14.00 per hour commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
- Perform an audit of the front desk daily transactions: run the daily reports and check for accuracy, audit all payment types for that day, make appropriate corrections and adjustments and complete end-of-day reports; post room charges, run back-up of daily transactions, and roll the posting date to the next business day.
- Serve as manager on duty. Learn and be prepared to implement all safety and security procedures. Contact upper management as needed. Communicate effectively with all front desk staff. Respond to guest requests, complaints, and emergencies. Handle maintenance issues that may arise during your shift.
- Complete all procedures related to guests, including check in and check out; make and confirm reservations, provide guests with hotel information, answer telephone, post charges and payments to guests folios, greet guests in a welcoming manner.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings and training sessions; assist hotel team members in meeting hotel division goals; other duties as assigned.
- As the manager on duty, learn the hotels fire, health, and safety regulations and be ready to implement these policies and procedures when needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent. Hotel experience preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: Outstanding customer service skills; professional communication; computer skills; detail oriented; time management and organizational skills; ability to work alone.
- Physical Demands: Stand/sit at desk for extended periods of time utilizing a computer and/or phone; walk and climb stairs; occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.
