Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Staffing & Recruiting
- Post open positions on job boards and internal systems.
- Screen resumes and schedule interviews with hiring managers.
- Coordinate pre-employment processes (background checks, drug screens, reference checks).
- Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation.
- Benefits & Leave Administration
- Provide employees with information regarding health, dental, vision, 401(k), and other benefits.
- Support the enrollment process and respond to employee benefit inquiries.
- Assist with FMLA, personal leave, and other leave of absence administration, including tracking, documentation, and communication.
- Unemployment & Compliance
- Respond to unemployment claims and inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Maintain confidential employee files and HR records.
- Support compliance with state and federal employment laws and company policies.
- HR Support
- Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence as needed.
- Provide clerical support to the HR team (filing, scanning, data entry, employee verifications).
- Assist with HR projects, events, and initiatives (wellness programs, recognition events, etc.).
Required Skills & Competencies
- Experience in staffing and recruiting processes.
- Working knowledge of unemployment, FMLA, and employee benefits.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with HRIS/ATS systems preferred.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred.
- 12 years of HR experience, with exposure to recruiting, benefits, or leave management.
- Knowledge of Workday is a plus.
- Bilingual preferred
Work Environment
- This position operates in an office setting with occasional interaction on the production floor (if applicable).
- Work is performed in a standard climate-controlled office setting with prolonged exposure to computer screens, to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time, walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and lifting to 25 lbs.
- Need manual dexterity and visual acuity.
- Must be able to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
- Occasional overtime required when necessary.
