Primary Role Objective: Analyze mid- and higher-level general liability claims, determining benefits due while maintaining company standards and best practices in the industry. This includes managing subrogation of claims and negotiating settlements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage mid-level general liability claims by gathering information to ascertain liability exposure, assigning reserve values, and processing claims payments as necessary.
- Evaluate liability and effectively resolve claims.
- Approve and implement action plans concerning assigned claims based on client contracts.
- Oversee subrogation of claims while negotiating settlements.
- Maintain clear communication with claimants and clients regarding claim action.
- Ensure accurate documentation of claim files and correct coding.
- Handle complex medical claims, which may involve state and physician filings and reviewing treatments recommended by utilization review.
- Foster professional relationships with clients throughout the claims process.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred.
Experience: Four (4) years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
