Call Center Customer Service Representative

As our Call Center Customer Service Representative, you'll serve as the front door to the county , working in a fast-paced, high-volume position that responds to inquiries for all 17 departments of the Sarasota County government.

The ideal candidate is familiar with Sarasota County and our geographic areas/cities (Sarasota, Venice, Englewood, Nokomis, Osprey, and North Port), is bilingual in Spanish, and has at least one (1) year of experience in a call center/customer service environment. This position offers a great, steady schedule (with the possibility of hybrid work 1-2 days per week after meeting the six-month probationary period) and the pay starts at $18.18/hr. Apply today!

About The Position

In this role, you will receive, research, refer, and respond to the general public and county employees for government services.

• Receive telephone calls from the general public and county employees for the purpose of obtaining County services or information.
• Determine what type of service is being requested and respond to citizen requests.
• Furnish callers with service request tracking numbers and work orders for follow-up inquiries.
• Advise callers of the projected service, completion time, and status of their requests.
• Document the caller's information and the nature of the request, and enter it into a work/asset management system.

About The Schedule

Work Hours:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• This position offers the possibility of hybrid work 1-2 days per week after meeting the six-month probationary period!

About You

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:

• High School Diploma or equivalent education.
• The ideal candidate has the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities:
• Bilingual in Spanish.
• One (1) year of experience in a clerical or customer service environment.
• Working knowledge of computer software dealing with public response.
• Knowledge of Sarasota County and all of the geographic areas/cities such as Sarasota, Venice, Englewood, Nokomis, Osprey, and North Port.

Physical Demands

Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.

Starting Pay Rate: $18.18/hr
