Compensation: $120,000 – $130,000 annually

Shift: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Position Summary

Reporting to the Sr. QA Manager, the QA Manager ensures that production and distribution meet or exceed company and regulatory quality standards. This role oversees food safety and quality operations, manages QA/QC staff, supports audits, and drives continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with SQF, HACCP, USDA, FDA, and other regulatory requirements.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field.
  • SQF Practitioner Certificate preferred.
  • HACCP training and competence in implementing HACCP-based food safety plans required.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience managing Quality and Food Safety Operations (preferably in sous-vide food manufacturing).
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience supervising QA/QC staff.
  • Proficiency in MS Office with excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for food safety and quality.
  • Monitor plant personnel to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Lead SQF Food Safety and Quality program implementation, verification, and validation.
  • Prepare for and support audits from USDA, FDA, Health Department, customer auditors, and third-party certifiers.
  • Conduct release inspections on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Investigate non-conformities and customer complaints, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage QA programs including calibration, preventive maintenance, sanitation, supplier approval, pest control, allergen control, and environmental/product testing.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate QA/QC staff, ensuring adequate coverage and continuous development.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, customer requirements, and BRC standards
  • Prepare and present reports and recommendations to Sr. QA Manager for quality improvements.
  • Support cross-functional teams with technical assistance and customer complaint resolution.
