Our client in West Palm Beach is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to take ownership of their procurement strategy and play a direct role in driving profitability and supply chain excellence. This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by shaping vendor relationships, optimizing purchasing programs, and ensuring the company remains competitive in a fast-moving industry.

Essential Functions

• Lead, mentor, and evaluate procurement staff to drive efficiency, professional development, and compliance with company procurement policies.
• Identify new purchasing opportunities, negotiate favorable pricing and programs, and oversee the procurement process from start to finish.
• Provide training and guidance to procurement staff on vendor research, evaluation, and relationship management.
• Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships to maximize returns, leverage purchasing power, and uphold ethical business practices.
• Oversee purchasing programs, ensuring accuracy, profitability, and timely execution.
• Administer and improve procurement systems, including training and process optimization.

Required Experience

• Minimum of five years of procurement experience in the food distribution or food service industry (absolute requirement).
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Experience with Unipro Food Service programs and systems.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements in food distribution.
• Proven success implementing procurement strategies that enhance margins and operational efficiency.
• Strong vendor negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in an office or warehouse environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
