Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Supply Delivery Technician to join our North Chicago team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate receipt, processing, and delivery of incoming and outgoing mail and packages while providing excellent customer service. The position requires strong communication skills, physical stamina, and the ability to operate material handling equipment in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately receive incoming packages, verify against packing slips, process into the receiving system, and close purchase orders in SAP if required.
- Deliver incoming mail and packages to customers and mail stops; coordinate pick-up of mail and packages being returned or moved internally.
- Investigate and resolve issues with lost, delayed, or misdirected mail/packages using computer applications.
- Operate various types of material handling equipment for transporting packages (e.g., pallet jacks, carts, forklifts if applicable).
- Prepare pallets for transportation, print and sort manifests, and stage dock areas for delivery routes.
- Perform day-to-day mailroom operations, including internal pick-up requests, rush deliveries, and Staples downloads.
- Maintain dock/cage area, vehicles (if applicable), and ensure compliance with corporate/divisional safety policies.
- Provide support for cross-functional teams, operational enhancements, and departmental long-range planning.
- Document and maintain accurate records in written and electronic systems.
- Provide back-up coverage for package receiving, mail center specialists, and other support areas as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to investigate and track shipments; SAP experience a plus.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to change and work independently.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs., walk extensively, stand for long periods, stoop, and climb ladders.
- Valid driver's license required for operating company vehicles on public roadways.
- Safety shoes required.
