POSITION OVERVIEW

We're looking for a skilled and strategic Director of Operations to help lead and optimize all aspects of Ember Stays. In this role, you'll be at the center of ensuring the company runs smoothly, stays profitable, and continues to deliver an outstanding experience for both guests and homeowners.

You'll lead a wide range of teams—warehouse/laundry, cleaning services, maintenance, and our dedicated home success managers—making sure everything runs efficiently and to the highest standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across all teams: warehouse/laundry, cleaning crews, maintenance technicians, and home managers.

  • Ensure every home is consistently prepared, maintained, and presented to exceed guest expectations and homeowner standards.

  • Develop and maintain operational policies, procedures, and best practices that drive efficiency and accountability.

  • Build a culture of responsibility and ownership, supported by incentive programs and systems that create predictable, high-quality outcomes.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:

  • Take full ownership of operational budgets, expenses, and cost controls.

  • Monitor performance to ensure profitability targets are met or exceeded.

  • Implement smart systems to minimize waste, optimize resources, and improve bottom-line results.

TEAM DEVELOPMENT & MANAGEMENT:

  • Recruit, train, and lead diverse teams across all operational areas.

  • Set clear performance benchmarks, provide ongoing coaching and mentorship, and ensure team members have the tools to succeed.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

QUALITY ASSURANCE:

  • Maintain rigorous quality standards so every home is truly guest-ready.

  • Work closely with home managers to identify and resolve maintenance needs quickly.

  • Regularly review guest and homeowner feedback and use it to improve services.

STRATEGIC GROWTH & INNOVATION:

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and develop creative solutions to improve workflows.

  • Partner with leadership to build and execute scaling strategies as the company grows.

  • Introduce tools, automation, and reporting systems that increase efficiency and visibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of proven experience in operations management—ideally within hospitality, property management, or other service-driven industries.

  • Strong financial acumen with a track record of managing budgets and driving profitability.

  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to support, motivate, and oversee diverse teams.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with operational systems and data-driven decision-making.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • On-Target Earnings: $75,000 – $90,000 annually

  • Profit Sharing Incentives tied to company/team performance
