Job Description :
Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a skilled trades coordinator to assist with the development and implementation of new skilled trades pathways, programs and courses, including curriculum development, general instructor oversight, assessment and reporting. This position may be required to periodically work evenings and weekends to support division activities and courses. Essential DutiesThe following list is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills or working conditions associated with this position.Assists with development, coordination, management and monitoring of skills trades programs/courses, contract training offerings and apprenticeship programs; develops and monitors assigned budgets; assists with determining industry and community needs; develops curricula; assists with filling instructor vacancies; and helps prepare instructor schedules, while monitoring course enrollmentMonitors college and vendor equipment and works with vendors and community partners to ensure equipment is appropriate, safe and functional; ensures appropriate inventory of equipment, consumables and supplies; obtains quotes; coordinates service and deliveries; and complies with college purchasing policiesAssists with facilitation of meetings, training programs and workshops; monitors/observes course instruction; models and trains instructors to use instructional technologies and equipment; and assists with professional development for instructors and staffAssists with continuous improvement efforts by attending/organizing partner meetings and implementing changes to ensure programs and courses are high quality and fulfill the needs of the community/partnersWorks with associates to ensure appropriate instructor packets are created, delivered and returned; helps instructors set up college shops; and ensures classrooms and shop areas are clean and clutter freeSubstitutes, when qualified, in situations when an instructor is absent and another substitute cannot be securedAnalyzes and compiles data, prepares accurate and timely reports, and maintains lists of businesses actively seeking employees in various content areasContributes to the annual and five-year comprehensive department assessment process as per the college assessment planPerforms other duties as assigned Minimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or the equivalentThree years of trades work experience in fields such as construction, electrical, HVAC, manufacturing, plumbing, metal fabrication and/or weldingAbility to effectively work with people from diverse backgroundsStrong technology, computer (including Microsoft Office and instructional technology software), human relations, confidentiality, and verbal and written communication skillsValid driver's licensePreference will be given to candidates with a college degree; certified welding inspector (CWI), journeyman, master and/or other trades certification; and experience teaching trades and/or working in multiple skilled trades fields Supplemental InformationThe days and hours of work for this position are typically three days per week from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and two days per week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (1 hour lunch), with evenings and weekends as needed. This is a full-time exempt position with excellent fringe benefits. The starting salary will likely range from $60,200 to $73,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
