DSQR Quality Inspector

As a DSQR (Designated Supplier Quality Representative) Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality processing to our customer specifications. DSQR Inspectors act as the liaison between the customer and the supplier (SMI), conducting inspections, audits, and verifications to maintain quality standards. The essential duties need to be completed with a sense of urgency and accuracy to meet external customer expectations. This person reports to the Quality Manager.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

  • Responsible for reviewing and interpreting drawings and other technical data requirements to perform visual and dimensional checks on finished goods before releasing shipment.
  • Use of microscope and other basic inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, depth gage, height gage, etc.).
  • Responsible for reviewing or checking documentation (P/O, Certificate of Conformance, Material Certificates, Routers, IRLs, etc.) for accuracy.
  • Complying with all training, quality, compliance and safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Keeps management aware of any problems or potential problems in the quality of the product.
  • Enter scrap, rework, rejection, claim, and inspection data.
  • Provide Quality Control support to production and engineering.
  • Work well in a fast-paced environment to meet customer needs.
  • All other responsibilities assigned by the Manager.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Attention to visual and written details.
  • Ability to use and read measuring instruments, including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, visual surface comparators, depth mics, etc.
  • Effective communication skills, which include verbal and written skills in English.
  • Must be able to multi-task, have a positive attitude, and handle pressure under deadlines in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and various specifications.
  • Ability to work with a high magnification scope for extended periods of time.
  • Must pass a vision screening and test.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Qualifications:

  • Must be willing to learn and obtain DPRV certification (company-paid).
  • 2 years of experience performing QA inspection in an aerospace manufacturing environment, or an Associate's Degree .

Work Environment:

  • Sitting or standing for 10-hour shifts. Optional 8 hour shift available.
  • Moderate physical activity such as walking and lifting is required daily
  • Safety gear, such as approved safety glasses and safety shoes, are required at all times.
  • The ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly
  • Clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment

Schedule:

  • Monday- Friday
  • 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

This position includes access or potential access to ITAR technical data.
