Job Description :

The smiles of well-fed children are the heart of our Feeding San Diego Kids mission. Starting in September, our volunteers will meet every Wednesday until May (excluding holidays) to pack over 300 individual food packs. On Thursdays, these vital packs will be delivered directly to our partner elementary schools to be distributed to the children for the weekend.

To join our team, we ask:

  • Wednesday Packing Volunteers: Meet at our office at 8:30 am and commit to 80% of the packing days from September to May.
  • Thursday Delivery Volunteers: Meet at our office between 9 to 10:00 am and commit to at least one Thursday per month until May.

Volunteers will meet at the International Relief Teams office at 3545 Camino del Rio S in Mission Valley. This is a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and make a difference in a child's life - one food pack at a time. Join our teams!

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes

Signing Up: All volunteers must complete the Internaitonal Relief Teams Waiver and a Background Check.

Time Commitment: Packing volunteers must be committed to at least 80% of the Wednesdays between September 2025 to May 2026. Delivery volunteers must be committed to one Thursday a month. (Food packs will not be packed or delivered during holidays or school closure days.)

Qualifications: All volunteers must be able to lift at least 10 pounds. (Thursday delivery volunteers must have a personal vehicle that can transport 60-100 food packs.

Training & Support: Volunteers will receive a Welcome email once they sign up with paperwork to be completed. An Orientation will be held on the first day of packing to meet your fellow volunteers!
