Grief Support Group Volunteers-Arlington Heights

We're seeking volunteer facilitators for children and teens grief support groups. Volunteer Facilitators are asked to make a commitment to co-facilitate at least one group monthly for one year (September through May).

A comprehensive training is offered and includes: an experiential and instructive guiding framework for understanding the grief and loss experience of children, teens and families; reviews of educational information and research regarding children and grief; and instruction on how to be an effective peer support group facilitator.

In-person training is at our Bannockburn office.

Here are our upcoming training dates and times for the 2025-2026 year. Training will be 2 days in August -

• Saturday, August 16th from 9am-2pm (in-person)
• Saturday, August 23rd from 9am-2pm (in-person)

If you cannot attend one of these dates we will have a video review and a quiz option available.

We are looking for volunteers that can support groups in Libertyville, Arlington Heights, Chicago (Edgewater Neighborhood), Round Lake Park, and at our office in Bannockburn. We also have a virtual volunteer opportunity available as well!
