This job is a seasonal, temporary position in the Research Department working in the corn and/or soybean yield test locations. This position reports to a Manager, Associate or Assistant-Level employee. This position will begin by early July and work through November 2025. Possible extension of employment would need to be outlined in a separate agreement if the opportunity presented itself. Responsibilities
- Assist with shelling, processing and packaging of seed.
- Taking notes in the field related to plant qualities using data collection computers
- Operating yield test harvest equipment
- Driving to/from field plots
- Overnight travel four (4) to five (5) days each week (travel expenses covered by Beck's)
- Maintain positive attitude and strong work ethic in order to work well with in a team.
- Assist with other duties as required by the assigned supervisor
Job Requirements 1. Education and training:
- Successful completion of Beck's safety training program
- This is a safety-sensitive position.
2. Technical knowledge:
- Hardworking
- Possess positive attitude
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to operate computers (training provided)
- Ability to operate a research combine (training provided)
3. Experience:
- Operating farm or large equipment preferred, but not necessary.
4. Physical Demands:
- Must have transportation to and from work facility.
- Ability to work five (5) to six (6) days each week.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently
