POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for ordering and replenishment of the Central storeroom for the facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will maintain the ED clean Storage room, to include ordering and replenishment of supplies in the clean storage room along with all ED rooms.
  • Checks expiration dates on sterile items.
  • Checks for outdated items and takes appropriate action if discovered.
  • Will rotate stock to manage expired supplies.
  • Performs daily soil rounds, visiting all required areas and prepares equipment and instruments to be returned by the Courier to the SBSHH Central Sterile for cleaning and sterilization.
  • Will receive the clean Instruments for stocking at the facility.
  • Responsible for ordering stock supplies for the facility.
  • Will utilize CPSI system to order and receive supplies.
  • Will maintain code carts for the facility to include Adult and Pediatric, this will include tray replacement in the carts along with inventory and expiration management in the Pharmacy Med Keeper System.
  • Can require heavy lifting and pulling and working in hot or cold conditions.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
  • Medkeeper System.
  • CPSI.
  • Power Charts.
  • National Certification: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPDT).

As part of employment at Southampton Hospital, there may be occasions when travel to other locations is needed to support operational needs.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established based on relevant experience

Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Southampton Hospital's Employee Health Services*

  • Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
