Job Description :

We are currently working on behalf of a client in York, PA, to identify a qualified professional for a Safety and Risk Management role that blends safety compliance with insurance coordination. This position offers an excellent opportunity within a growing organization that embraces a relaxed workplace culture and provides a flexible hybrid work schedule. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in managing safety documentation, understanding insurance policies, and overseeing risk-related activities across multiple locations and states. The primary responsibilities involve ensuring adherence to OSHA standards through comprehensive documentation while managing detailed insurance workflows, particularly related to property, casualty, and auto policies. The role entails close collaboration with various teams to evaluate incidents, support safety initiatives, and maintain regulatory compliance. Although the majority of the work focuses on safety procedures, a significant portion involves handling insurance-related duties, with minimal engagement in workers' compensation matters. Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee safety protocols across multiple facilities, ensuring ongoing compliance with applicable laws and standards.
  • Work directly with site teams and leadership to investigate safety incidents, including auto and property claims, and facilitate prompt resolution with insurers.
  • Manage essential safety documentation, including hazard inventories, safety data sheets, and incident reports, maintaining accuracy and accessibility.
  • Lead efforts to revise and improve safety manuals and procedures, engaging with safety committees and key stakeholders to ensure content remains current and comprehensive.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for safety initiatives, setting achievable goals, monitoring progress, and driving continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure organizational adherence to federal, state, and local safety regulations through diligent review and interpretation of legal requirements.
  • Serve as a point of contact for insurance negotiations, policy renewals, and certificate issuance, supporting the organization's risk transfer strategies.
  • Assist with the development and deployment of safety training programs to promote awareness and foster a safety-first culture within the workforce.
  • Regularly analyze safety metrics and incident data to identify trends and recommend proactive measures to reduce risks.
  • Support the annual retention and management of safety and incident records, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and legal standards.
  • Coordinate with external brokers and internal teams to manage insurance coverages, handling endorsements, claims, and invoices efficiently.
  • Contribute to organizational safety audits and audits' follow-up to ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Participate in occasional site visits, safety inspections, and conferences as needed, potentially involving travel between locations.
Qualifications & Skills Needed:
  • A bachelor's degree in safety management, environmental health, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • At least three years of practical experience in safety compliance, preferably across multiple states or regions.
  • Deep understanding of OSHA standards, hazard communication, and risk assessment techniques.
  • Hands-on experience handling auto, property, and casualty insurance procedures, including working with brokers and insurers.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a talent for managing detailed records and documentation efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate safety policies and procedures.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to make informed decisions independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software tools used for safety management and reporting.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel periodically between locations.
  • A flexible work schedule, including availability for occasional weekend hours if needed.
  • An energetic, team-oriented mindset with a commitment to fostering a safety-conscious work environment.
  • Experience supporting safety programs in dynamic multi-site environments is a plus.
Work hours typically involve a minimum of 40 hours per week, with some flexibility for weekend work if necessary. The work environment combines indoor and outdoor settings with minimal hazardous exposure. Residence within approximately 35 miles of the designated location in York, PA, is preferred, ensuring proximity to the organization's main office. Not ready to apply yet?
