SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital is seeking a Pharmacist Operations Coordinator to enhance our compounding operations. This pivotal role focuses on coordinating essential operational areas, optimizing pharmacy services, and ensuring patient safety through regulatory compliance and medication management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to uphold standards in patient care and medication practices.
  • Develop and execute policies that enhance drug distribution and control, ensuring alignment with established hospital standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance service quality and contribute to a unified approach towards patient care.
  • Prepare reports and conduct studies to identify industry trends and improve departmental performance.
  • Act as a consultant and resource for pharmacy staff and support services.
  • Guide and mentor pharmacy staff through work assignments, training, and scheduling.
  • Provide education to pharmacy students and residents as needed.
  • Maintain a proactive and safe working environment.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D or Bachelor of Pharmacy) from an ACPE-accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two years experience in pharmacy operations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs frequently.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and repetitive motions required.
  • Good vision for distances near and far, and ability to distinguish colors.
  • Effective hearing and speech abilities for oral communication.
  • Frequent use of keyboard and data entry.
  • Occasional heavier lifting/carrying and the need to bend or twist.
  • Minimal climbing required.

Licensure and Certifications:

Required certifications include Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) within 90 days of employment. Pharmacist registration is mandated in the relevant state where you will practice.

Work Schedule:

Day Shift
