Underthe direction of the Auxiliary Services II, the Team Lead is responsible fordelegating and executing the daily tasks of the Utility Crew, and student staffwho provide services related to support of campus activities, office moves,miscellaneous special projects, etc. This position applies technical knowledgeto decide where and how to allocate resources, both manpower and equipment, toensure timely and accurate completion of tasks. This position monitors theschedule, maintains equipment and tracks supply inventory. The Team Lead willalso assist in the hiring and training of new employees and studentstaff. Inaddition, the Auxiliary Services II performs duties including but not limitedto loading and unloading equipment and supplies; performing minor repairs andmaintenance on buildings and equipment; washing exterior windows; removing anddisposing waste; relocating campus dumpsters; snow and ice removal; outdoorsurface cleaning. The Team Lead works to ensure a functional safe andattractive campus, consistent with the educational role and mission of ColoradoMesa University. OVERVIEW AND ROLE SCOPE OF TEAM AND/OR TASKS • Partially responsible for the work product of employees and student staff whoprovide event support, moving services, operate various pieces of equipment,remove trash, and perform custodial duties, seven days per week. • Communicate with internal and external customers regarding event supporttopics, coordinate logistics, and ensure customer satisfaction. • Workalong with the event support team on major events, such as outdoor concerts,FYI week, and the Student Showcase. • Maintain an accurate inventory of event support supplies maintained by thedepartment. • Assist in the hiring process, train staff and student workers. • Procure goods and services for the Utility Crew, ensuring compliance with thePurchasing Department's policies and procedure. • Otherduties as may be assigned by the Utility Crew manager including specialconstruction or custodial projects, assist with carpentry projects, work orderfulfillment, etc. Theposition requires the ability and willingness to work a rotating shiftassignment and/or overtime as needed, as well as respond to on-callresponsibilities. Theindividual in this position will be responsible for receiving emergency callsduring non-business hours and determine the appropriate response. ESSENTIALEXPERIENCE FOR RIGHT FIT• AHigh school diploma or GED. • Two(2) years of related experience. • Familiaritywith Microsoft office products, specifically MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint andProject. • Demonstratedability to provide effective leadership that results in a timely delivery ofservices by subordinates. • Effectiveverbal/written communications skills. • Abilityto develop and maintain effective working relationships both within CMU, withoutside agencies, and private firms. • Mustpossess and maintain a valid driver's license. • Associate'sdegree from an accredited college or university is preferred. • Experienceworking in higher education or other large, complex organizations is preferred. • Previousexperience assisting in the management of a physical plant is preferred. • Experiencewith work order software is preferred. • Experiencewith scheduling software such as 25live is preferred.
