Salary: $17.24 - $20.96 Hourly Location : Compton, CA Job Type: 10 Months Job Number: 25/26 - 6 Department: District Wide Opening Date: 09/02/2025 Closing Date: 9/23/2025 11:59 PM Pacific Position Details Under close supervision, assists in the preparation of food; serves lunches and performs routine manual tasks connected therewith; and performs other related duties as required. Essential Functions - Typical Duties Prepares fruits, vegetables, and other foods for cooking; assists in the kitchen by preparing sandwiches and salads; butters bread. Set up or cleans steam table and stores food. Dishes foods onto trays or plates. Washes pots and pans; cleans and sterilizes plates and silverware; washes and sets tables. Stores unused foods. Cleans work areas and disposes of refuse. Leads student helpers. Collects money. Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience Equivalent to completion of the 10th grade; ability to lift up to 25 pounds. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Obtain food handler's certificate issued by the County Health Department. • Health and Welfare Plan for employees and eligible dependents. Plan includes District/Employee paid premium for health, dental, and vision. • Paid Vacation: Vacation is prorated based on months worked per year and longevity with the District. • Holidays: 16 days paid per fiscal year
