The Per Diem Patient Care Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting patient care delivery, which includes responsibilities such as patient reception, scheduling, insurance verification, and payment processing across various hospital and medical group departments.

We provide four weeks of paid training to equip you for success, with training hours to be determined on your first day of employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome visitors and patients in person or via phone, delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Accurately enter and update patient demographic and financial information, ensuring early registration.
  • Collect necessary applications and forms, ensuring signatures are complete and properly recorded.
  • Inform patients about their financial responsibilities, collect payments, and maintain a balanced cash box.
  • Collaborate with departments (Financial Counseling, Scheduling, Financial Clearance, etc.) to ensure smooth patient encounters.
  • Assist patients with wayfinding and provide information regarding the hospital.
  • Coordinate patient admissions, bed assignments, and other relevant tracking tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with audit accuracy standards by addressing error reports proactively.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

You will be recognized for your performance in an environment that encourages growth and development for future roles of interest.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher.
  • At least 6 months of customer service experience in an office or healthcare setting.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work at all three local Waukesha clinics.
  • Availability to work on a per diem basis from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, including weekends.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electronic medical record systems.
  • Background in a medical office or hospital admitting/registration.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

Essential Skills:

  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.

Important Information: The sign-on bonus applies only to external candidates. Internal candidates at UnitedHealth Group or its affiliates are not eligible. Pay ranges from $16.00 to $27.69 per hour based on full-time employment factors. Comprehensive benefits, such as medical coverage, 401k contributions, and equity stock purchase options, are available subject to eligibility requirements.
