Job Type Part-timeDescriptionThe Kitchen Worker will prepare food for students and support the efforts of the KitchenManager. They will interact with all staff, faculty, and students in a kind, loving manner, as isdescribed in Matthew 7:12.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Honor Christ in every interaction and every activity.2. Assist with the preparation, cooking, and serving of food.3. Record temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and sinks in logs daily.4. Set out milk for daily use.5. Assist with checking in and putting away food deliveries.6. Have knowledge of how to charge student accounts for food purchases.7. Assist in the food preparation and process by cutting, chopping, slicing, and washing vegetables, meats, and other ingredients.8. Assist with preparing and cooking food.9. Maintain proper storage of all foods.10. Calibrate thermometers.11. Check and put away food and supply deliveries.12. Maintain the kitchen in preparedness for inspections.13. Assist with the clean-up of the kitchen and washing dishes.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS• Active Christian who feels called by God to the food service industry.• Able to physically move about the day.• Highschool diploma or equivalent.• Prior experience in a similar position.• Knowledge of food safety procedures.• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.• Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.• Ability to stand for extended periods.• Ability to work shifts and on public holidays if needed.ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES• Effective decision-making skills required.• Possess communication skills of listening and speaking.• Possess interpersonal skills and abilities.
