Salary: $110,000 - $120,000 per yearOther forms of compensation: Eligible for annual bonus

Job Summary

As a Director of Environmental Services, you are responsible for directing and leading all aspects of the operational needs of the Housekeeping Department. You will coordinate the tasks of the Assistant Directors and Operations Managers and serve as a liaison between administration and hospital departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the department's financial data and statistics
  • Monitor unit expenditures
  • Develop and implement the department operating budget and ensure the department operates within budget
  • Coordinate housekeeping activities with other departments
  • Actively communicate with administration and other hospital departments
  • Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and supervise functions and activities of the department
  • Establish work standards and workflow
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures for departmental operations
  • Encourage and mentor staff creativity and innovation
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies
  • Be proactive in achieving facility goals and objectives
  • Demonstrate quality leadership in meeting performance plans
  • Read, develop, and administer Total Quality Management processes
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions for department staff
  • Encourage staff participation in education programs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Four-year college degree and/or equivalent related experience
  • Six years of housekeeping management experience at a healthcare account
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data
  • General business acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • High customer service and quality attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet goals and objectives
  • Public speaking skills
  • Participative approach to managing staff; ability to organize and prioritize tasks and to develop budgets with understanding of facility needs
  • Strong stress management, administrative, organizational, and follow-through skills
  • Proficient in Windows-based office software (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
