Position Highlights
Responsibilities:
Patient Registration & Admitting Clerk is responsible for registering outpatients for various outpatient tests/procedures
Interview patients or relatives to obtain information as defined by the hospital admission/outpatient procedure - obtain demographic, employment, and insurance information
Make pre-authorization and pre-certification calls to insurance companies according to department policy
Receive incoming patients for hospitalization
Admits inpatients to nursing unit with proper accommodation codes
When necessary, escort patient to assigned nursing unit or outpatient department
Requirements:
Previous hospital or clinic experience preferred
Excellent customer services skills, attention to detail, and computer literate
Ability to multitask
Schedule:
72 hours a pay period
9:15a-5p
Monday-Friday
The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department
