Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Position Overview:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the continued operation, repair, and maintenance of production equipment and facility infrastructure. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, installing and removing machinery, and addressing mechanical and electrical issues using a wide range of tools and test equipment. The technician must be skilled in both mechanical and electrical systems and capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment
  • Install, troubleshoot, remove, and maintain structural and functional components throughout the facility
  • Operate and maintain a variety of tools including hand, power, pneumatic, and precision measuring instruments
  • Execute and close work orders efficiently, maintaining accurate records of maintenance history, PM schedules, and equipment downtime
  • Comply with all safety protocols such as lockout/tagout, fall protection, lift equipment safety, and confined space entry
  • Assist with housekeeping duties and maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal production downtime
  • Remain alert, reliable, and safety-conscious at all times

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Post-secondary training with a focus on industrial trades, mechanical and/or electrical disciplines
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance with both mechanical and electrical responsibilities

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in industrial mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings
  • Experience with CNC machinery and PLCs
  • Skilled in the use of precise measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures
  • Familiarity with computers, including CNC and PLC interfaces
  • Basic math and communication skills (English proficiency required)
