Job Title: Senior Firmware Engineer

Location: On Site - Bohemia, New York, United States

Base pay range

$150,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of digital circuits and systems using VHDL.
  • Create and execute test plans, perform simulations, and validate designs to ensure high performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with system architects, hardware engineers, and software developers to define and implement solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to digital designs, including debugging and optimizing FPGA and software interactions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of design processes, methodologies, and results for knowledge sharing.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and resource requirements to meet market demands.
  • Mentor junior engineers, sharing best practices and expertise in digital design.
  • Research and implement new methods, technologies, and tools to enhance product quality and performance.
Must-Have Skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • 8-15 years of experience in digital design and development, including FPGA projects.
  • Proficiency in VHDL and FPGA design tools (e.g., Xilinx, Altera).
  • Experience with network protocols, including PCIe, 1G/10G Ethernet, and TSN.
  • Strong understanding of FPGA architectures, digital design principles, and high-speed designs.
  • Experience with the DO-254 certification process across all Stages of Involvement (SOI).
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective teamwork.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with other hardware description languages, such as Verilog.
  • Familiarity with Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) and other verification methods.
  • Proficiency in embedded software design using C/C++.
  • Knowledge of additional FPGA tools and advanced verification methodologies.
  • Experience working in Aerospace, Defense, or Space industries.
