Base pay range

$83,470.40/yr - $99,840.00/yr

Overview

Front Porch Gallery (FPG) is an arts nonprofit program and gallery space dedicated to expanding creative opportunities for older adults and people with disabilities. We provide an inclusive environment that fosters creative expression and encourages intergenerational dialogue. Through a vibrant mix of gallery exhibitions, workshops, and community initiatives, we are passionate about building relationships and championing the transformative power of creativity. FPG is a program of Front Porch, a nonprofit provider of housing and services, and shares its physical location with Carlsbad by the Sea, a Front Porch senior living community.

The Front Porch Gallery Program Director is responsible for designing and delivering engaging, high-quality creative programming that connects with older adults and welcomes participants of all ages from the broader community.

Responsibilities
  • Collaboratively shape vision for inspiring, accessible, replicable programming.
  • Establish and achieve annual program goals in collaboration with leadership.
  • Oversee program and site operations, ensuring daily activities align with the organization's mission and program goals.
  • Manage, plan, and co-curate a rotating exhibition program and related events.
  • Supervise Gallery Program Manager, providing 1:1 coaching, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Identify and implement creative local outreach opportunities.
  • Develop program and communication materials.
  • Manage all marketing activities, including advertising, video, social media, direct mail, and website content.
  • Strategically cultivate relationships with CBTS staff/residents, local organizations, and community members.
  • Lead special projects to support program development.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to strengthen and expand the program reach and its impact.
  • Meet regularly with supervisor to review progress, address issues, and plan future initiatives.
  • Complete all administrative work, employment requirements, and required reporting.
  • Assist with evaluating and reporting on program outcomes and impact.
  • Contribute to the budgeting process, as well as grant and sponsorship efforts, as needed.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts or similar; equivalent experience accepted in lieu of education (Associates Degree/Two years of college plus two years related work experience; or Four years related work experience).
  • Master's Degree in Liberal Arts or similar (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of professional creative arts-based programming and community-based programming development.
  • Minimum 5 years of prior supervisory experience (preferred).
Physical requirements and working conditions
  • Must be able to remain stationary for 20% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift or carry items: seldom 11-25 pounds; occasionally 11-25 pounds; frequently 1-10 pounds; constant negligible.
  • Must occasionally ascend/descend stairs to provide essential services.
  • Must succinctly communicate information and ideas so others will understand accurately exchanged information.
  • Must consistently work in an office and assisted living facility-type atmosphere.
