Job Summary

The Director of Sales has direct oversight of the sales operations of the hotel. The DOS has a primary responsibility to maximize profit, expand business relationships with targeted prospects and large clients; develop and implement strategy, sales plan, budgets, and forecasts for overall business development, oversee group and transient sales.

Essential Job Functions
  • Manage all aspects of the sales division. Provide the strategic vision for maximum hotel sales generation and revenue growth.
  • Lead a talented sales team, creating an environment where professionals are motivated to learn, exceed, and advance. Model leadership by empowering and coaching staff.
  • Assess the effectiveness of company programs and the competitive landscape to optimize revenues.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with clients and partners to increase market share.
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure sales plans meet budget and revenue goals.
  • Generate and develop new business to meet targets.
  • Maintain and nurture client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and growth.
  • Develop sales strategies and action plans to increase revenue and acquire new accounts.
  • Attend industry events, prepare reports, and analyze client needs to promote company services.
  • Manage sales forecasts, strategies, and client relationship development.
  • Understand client cultures, products, and decision-making processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and management skills.
  • Proven leadership, presentation, and sales abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel industry sales tools.
  • Proven sales background in the hotel industry.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently use hands for handling objects or using the telephone.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
