WRAPPER 2nd Shift (1:30 PM - 10:00 PM) Southington, CT $21.66-$25.58/ HRLYJob Summary Yarde Metals is looking for wrapper to join our Operations Team in Southington, CT. A material wrapper constructs standard and non-standard boxes, crates, skids and pallets to ship finished products to our customers.
Responsibilities - SAFETY FIRST!
- Inspect material for physical damage or defects prior to packaging.
- Select appropriate packaging materials to protect material from being damaged in transit.
- Construct skids, boxes, crates, and pallets.
- Measure materials using tape measure and other measuring devices.
- Operate banding and nail guns.
- Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Scan and stage orders in appropriate shipping and loading zones.
- Monitor linear footage on wood used to package export orders.
- Perform additional warehouse duties as directed by supervisor.
Requirements & Qualifications***This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE
position: requires operating heavy machinery.***- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read and understand English to follow work instructions.
- History of working safely and productively.
- Forklift operation experience strongly preferred.
- Basic math skills required to convert decimals and fractions and to accurately use and read tape measures and calipers.
- Dependable, punctual, and works well with others.
- Able to pass background check, drug screen, physical, meet physical requirements of the position.
- Willingness to work required overtime.
