Job Description: Advex Corporation is seeking a full-time Quality Assurance Inspector to join our Heavy Fabrication team in Hampton Roads, Virginia. This onsite role is critical to maintaining the high standards our customers expect. The Quality Assurance Inspector will be responsible for monitoring fabrication processes, inspecting materials and finished products for defects, and ensuring all work aligns with applicable industry standards and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and experienced in quality control practices, with the ability to prepare thorough inspection reports and work collaboratively with production teams to uphold our commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive quality control inspections, including material receipt, workmanship, dimensional, and final inspections on fabricated and welded assemblies.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate production and conformity to industry standards.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word to prepare detailed reports documenting inspection findings and quality assurance outcomes.
  • Uphold the standards of visual inspection certification to SNT-TC-1A Level II for weld inspections, ensuring all products meet stringent quality requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in quality control processes within a heavy fabrication environment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong capabilities in report preparation and data management using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word).
  • Must hold a current visual inspection certification to SNT-TC-1A Level II in weld inspection.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience:

  • SNT-TC-1A Level II: 2 years (Required)
  • Interpret technical drawings : 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • SNT-TC-1A Level II in weld inspection (Required)

Candidates must meet the following employment eligibility guidelines to be considered for

employment:

  • 18 years of or older at time of application
  • Able to provide proof of US Person Status ((Due to government contracts, U.S. Citizenship is required.)
  • No felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within seven years from disposition date
  • No felony convictions of Drug crimes within three years from disposition date
  • Willing to submit to a drug screen
  • Willing to submit a background check

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and maneuver items up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. with assistance as needed.
  • Capability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to loud machinery, fluctuating temperatures, and handling industrial materials.
  • Position involves repetitive motions and manual handling of tools, metal components, and equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must be comfortable working on your feet for extended periods during an 8–10 hour shift.
