Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Full-Time Dental Hygiene Specialist to join our dedicated dental team at our Patchogue location in Long Island, NY. Under the supervision of a dentist, you will play a vital role in delivering essential oral hygiene services, education, and preventative care to both adult and pediatric patients. Your contribution will directly impact patients' health through effective education on proper oral hygiene techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine dental cleanings, effectively removing plaque, stains, and tartar.
• Administer dental prophylaxes, full mouth debridement, topical fluoride treatments, and dental sealants.
• Take and expose X-rays as necessary, guided by the supervising dentist.
• Perform full mouth periodontal charting to aid in treatment planning, including scaling and root planing.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, tobacco cessation, nutritional guidance, and the importance of maintaining oral health.
• Conduct visual oral health screenings for programs like HeadStart and ABCD.
• Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Possess a valid New York State license to practice as a dental hygienist.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Valid NYS driver's license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in dental hygiene.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred, both orally and in writing).

Salary Range

Annual salary between $87,760.40 and $93,020.20 (subject to pro-rating based on hours).
