Ig Senior Health and Science Sales Specialist - Boston, MA
Pfizer is seeking a Senior Health and Science Sales Specialist for Boston, MA. The role focuses on launching new products, managing customer relationships, understanding formulary access, and engaging in product promotion with office-based practices and specialty pharmacy accounts. The Senior Healthcare Rep will drive sales efforts and develop relationships with Therapeutic Area Specialists and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). The position requires strong product and disease state knowledge, sales, promotional, and strategic business development capabilities, and the ability to engage customers effectively in virtual and in-person settings. The role also requires proficiency with digital tools and collaboration across cross-functional teams to achieve Pfizer objectives.
Role Responsibilities
- Identify and implement efficient virtual and in-person engagement strategies by customer to maximize effectiveness, with emphasis on high-quality face-to-face interactions where permissible.
- Build rapport with customers across virtual and face-to-face environments; establish clear call objectives, document outcomes, and manage to KPIs; use current digital tools (e.g., Veeva Engage, Teams, Microsoft Office) and adapt to new tools for successful engagement; leverage analytics for insights and next-best-action plans.
- Compliantly engage key customers to grow business and drive product demand by providing education that meets Healthcare Professional (HCP) and patient needs.
- Develop and deliver targeted messaging using approved materials to drive product demand; gather insights for new messaging and resources.
- Educate providers on unbranded and branded product value propositions using disease-state information as applicable.
- Coordinate with HCPs and office staff to plan engagements in multiple formats (virtual and in-person).
- Strategically deploy Pfizer resources (samples, vouchers, co-pay resources, patient education) and integrate guidance from management and cross-functional teams into pre-call planning; optimize call environment across locations; plan day-to-day work with customer schedules; collaborate with CF colleagues and Pfizer Connect team.
- Support patient access by providing information on reimbursement, patient assistance programs, hub programs, and co-pay resources.
- Answer on-label questions proactively and introduce customers to Pfizer on-demand platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues (Field Medical, Reimbursement, Key Account Management) to address inquiries; use triage protocols and digital apps to connect with SMEs quickly.
- Use calendaring tools and insights from customer surveys to address priorities and inform leadership for continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
- A bachelors degree with 3+ years of relevant experience OR an associates degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; OR a high school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience includes professional sales, healthcare professional experience, or related business experience such as sales, customer service, marketing, finance, or HR.
- Proven history of marketing, promotional or sales success, strong territory management, outstanding communications, teamwork, leadership, and accountability.
- Valid US drivers license and driving record compliant with company standards.
- Candidate must live within 50 miles of the territory border.
Preferred Qualifications
- 35 years of specialty marketing/promotional/sales experience.
- Strong knowledge of disease states, therapeutic areas, and products.
- Deep knowledge of applicable customers and markets (prescribers/HCPs/institutions/organizations).
- Strategic account marketing, promotional, sales and management skills; ability to develop comprehensive territory/account/customer plans.
- Experience maintaining relationships with specialty pharmacies; overcoming access obstacles with healthcare providers and customers.
- Ability to cultivate relationships with KOLs and top priority customers; assess needs and respond with appropriate resources.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills; strong business acumen and problem-solving abilities; capable of data analysis and project management.
- Adaptability to a rapidly changing environment and matrix work structure; ability to work with multiple resources to meet customer needs.
- Experience engaging with key thought leaders or high-influence customers in large group practices or managed care organizations is preferred.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with ability to analyze sales data and adapt to Pfizer technology.
- Ability to learn and embrace new ways of working.

- Field sales role may require 25%+ travel and overnights based on territory.
