Food Service Director

The Moulton-Udell Community School District is seeking a Food Service Director to oversee and manage the school nutrition program. This position will oversee and manage the daily operations of the school nutrition program to ensure that our students receive healthy well balanced meals prepared by someone who cares about them while providing a nurturing, healthy, and supportive environment for M-U students. M-U is a small rural district in South Central Iowa with a 4 day week calendar with 154 school days for students. The school nutrition program is a source of school pride and a wonderful resource to build relationships with kids and connections with the community.

Duties will include, but not limited to the following:

• Head Cook
• Plan, organize, and direct the district's school meal program in compliance with the USDA Child Nutrition Programs and the Iowa Department of Education nutrition guidelines.
• Develop menus that meet dietary requirements, promote healthy eating habits, and accommodate student needs.
• Manage food service operations, including ordering, inventory, and meal preparation.
• Supervise, train, and support food service staff to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Monitor budgets and maintain accurate records for audits and reporting.
• Provide nutrition education and promote wellness within the school community.
• Free and Reduced lunch applications
• State reporting requirements
• Operation of the Summer Feeding Program Safe Serve Certification Required
• Strong organizational, technology, communication, and leadership skills needed. Training will be provided including annual continuing education in school nutrition requirements.

Salary: $35,000 (190 days)

Benefits include IPERS, health insurance, and vacation.
