The Network Administrator manages an organization's network infrastructure and is responsible for: installing, monitoring network activity, troubleshooting, and upgrading network infrastructure, including both hardware and software components. This role will also be responsible for all company-wide communication and rollout of related updates and/or new installations. The Applications and Systems Manager will assist in the training and coaching of new and current IT team members. The descriptions below are representative of, but not limited to, the duties and responsibilities for this position.

  • Administers system security policy, including firewalls, switches, IOT devices, Group Policy, VPN, Wi-Fi, file permissions, and active directory.
  • Diagnosing enterprise hardware and software problems using diagnostic tools, research, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Ensuring active directory, Azure, and Intune/Entra ID integrations uptime, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Researches, evaluates, installs, configures, and troubleshoots all hardware, software, peripherals, and equipment related to company enterprise infrastructure and network monitoring tools.
  • Ensuring data integrity, retention and cyber security for appropriate departments including Datto, Webroot, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender Enterprise, OneDrive and KnowBe4.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Power BI reporting, data visualization, and analysis.
  • Stay up to date with industry specific trends and standards and make recommendations when necessary.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware components such as CPUs, RAM, hard drives, graphics cards, docking stations, and any related components.
  • Manage working level maintenance and problem-solving for enterprise-wide solutions.
  • Responsible for improvement ideas from users to incorporate them into business platform solutions.
  • Support IT communication across the company for IT rollouts and incidents, lead these efforts when it relates to network and software applications.
  • Lead efficient company-wide project rollouts for server, applications, and hardware.
  • Solve escalated support calls/tickets from the support ticket system and get an initial response back to the team member within SLA time.
  • Perform routine system maintenance and software updates.
  • Manage backup consistency and reliability.
  • Identifying and resolving basic network connectivity issues, including problems with LAN cables, switches, and routers, security, permissions, and access.
  • Upholding network security using 802.1X protocols and applying them as needed.
  • Communicating and upholding the Company's commitment to Integrity and Code of Ethics.
  • Other relevant tasks as assigned.

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within IT and specifically network administration.
  • Office Enterprise, M365 Admin, Windows Server, Azure/Entra ID, Intune experience required.
  • Experience working within a large organization with multiple locations is required.
  • Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest IT developments.
  • Ability to explain highly technical concepts in simple terms and ability to teach others.
  • Knowledge of best implementation, documentation, and maintenance practices.
  • Good research, problem-solving, and analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Travel is required to and from Fessler & Bowman office locations and is anticipated at 15%.

As the Network Administrator, you will be subject to various work environments. These environments include office and field settings. Employees must be comfortable with sitting for an extended period.
