Check out our candidates' success stories!Position Summary:Under general supervision, performs a variety of custodial and light groundskeeping duties to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of assigned buildings and facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning floors, walls, restrooms, furniture, and windows; emptying trash and recycling; and performing minor maintenance. Reports to site administrator or designated supervisor.Application InstructionsWhen completing your application, please ensure you:Provide complete details of your education and work history.List each position and your duties separately, even when multiple positions were held with the same employer.Clearly highlight your competencies, including your knowledge, skills, abilities, and relevant experience.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSweep, mop, vacuum, strip, wax, and buff floor surfaces.Clean and disinfect restroom areas; restock paper products and soap.Wash windows, walls, blinds, woodwork, and light fixtures.Dust and clean desks, furniture, and surfaces.Empty trash and recycling bins; properly dispose of materials.Sweep exterior sidewalks and walkways; pick up debris.Shovel snow and apply de-icing compounds as needed.Replace burnt-out light bulbs.Complete requisition forms for cleaning supplies.Set and dispose of traps for rodents and pests.Perform other duties as assigned.Additional ResponsibilitiesRaise and lower flags at start and end of workday.Perform basic maintenance tasks as skills allow.Open and secure buildings; operate lights and HVAC systems.Assist in setting up furniture for meetings or events.Minimum QualificationsSome experience in custodial work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Physical and Mental RequirementsPhysical Requirements:Ability to operate custodial equipment (e.g., vacuums, mops, blowers).Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently.Physical demands align with medium work requirements.Sensory and Communication Requirements:Ability to compare and judge characteristics of objects or tasks.Able to receive and give instructions effectively.Basic reading and writing skills required.Capable of applying common-sense understanding to solve routine problems.Cognitive and Communication Skills:Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.Can complete simple reports (e.g., timesheets, supply forms).Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions.Motor Skills and Coordination:Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.No color discrimination required.Can work with minimal stress and interact professionally with others.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesWorking knowledge of standard janitorial methods and equipment.Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and procedures.Ability to work independently and complete tasks reliably.Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.Able to perform physical labor consistently.DisclaimerThis job description outlines the general responsibilities and qualifications required for this position.
